Trade Execution Summary
Launched in November 2011, Chi-X Australia's stated goal is to offer traders and investors with a low-cost, high-speed alternative to the primary equity market in Australia.

- Limit Buy/Sell→ShortSell
- Market Buy/Sell→ShortSell
Basic Market Rules
Note: Basic rules are the same as those for the primary market (ASX)
- Lot Size - minimum lot size = 1; maximum lot size = 999,000,000
- Tick Size - Up to 10c = 0.1c ; 10c up to $2.00 = 0.5c ; $2.00 up to $99,999,999.00 = 1c
- Short Sale Rules: Short sales must be declared and are only permitted where a locate for the shares has been obtained. Naked short selling is prohibited. For further guidance on short-selling in Australia please refer to Regulatory Guide 196: Short Selling
- Circuit Breakers - although Chi-X does not have explicitly defined circuit breakers, it will suspend trading if a security is subject to a suspension or trading halt on the listing market (ASX). In addition Chi-X has absolute discretion to suspend access or cease trading if it considers it appropriate to do so. Further information can be found in the Operating Rules here.

Chi-X Australia does not have an opening or closing auction mechanism.
