PPro8 SymbolList Editor

The PPro8 Symbol List Editor allows the Trader to create and manage a list/set of symbols. To open the SymbolList Editor, click on the icon on the toolbar, as highlighted below.

The SymbolList Editor contains two panes. On the left (Lists) contains a listing of all the already defined symbollists. On the right (Symbols) contains a listing of the symbols in the currently selected symbollist.

To create a new symbollist click on the New button.

Input the name of the list and click OK.

(A) The list name will appear on the LIST box (left) while allowing you to insert symbols for such list on the SYMBOL box (right). (B) Add as many symbols as needed for such list, as well as other lists with their respective symbols. Your window will look like the following image as a result. Note that symbols should be entered with a market extension and a single list can contain symbols from multiple markets.

Editing Symbol Lists

To edit a Symbol List name, double-click on it. The same pop-up window for symbol list name creation will appear. Enter the new name to change.

To edit a Symbol, double-click the symbol of the respective list you wish to replace/change. The symbol to change will be highlighted. Simply enter the new symbol.

Importing an Existing Symbol List

To import an existing symbol list created externally as a .csv file, a user can click on the Import button to open the browse window.

The user can then browse for the .CSV file containing the symbol list.

Then the user can click the Open button to import the list.

Inserting Symbols after List Creation and Sorting

To add more symbols whenever required, a user can right-click anywhere on the blank space indicated by (A). This will show the user an option to “Insert Row” for him/her to continue adding symbols following the normal list order.

Right-clicking on a symbol will allow you to decide where the new symbol should be inserted: on top or below the symbol marked.

The user can sort the symbols in a list using the “Up” and “Down” buttons.

Removing Symbols and Symbol Lists

To remove Symbols from the list, a user must:

(A) Select/highlight all the Symbols he/she wish to remove. (B) Click on Delete Selected button as shown in the image below.

4.4b) To remove a Symbols List, you must:

(A) Select/highlight the Symbol List you wish to remove. (B) Click on Delete button and you will have successfully removed the unwanted symbols as shown in the image below.
