In the course of using PPro8, you will most likely create a layout of your choosing. That is, your own arrangement of the PPro8 tool windows on the screen(s) that you prefer to use during the trading day—as well as their customized settings such as colors, fonts, columns, etc.

Every PPro8 tool window can be moved anywhere on the screen by simply clicking and dragging it by the title bar. Most can also be customized by right-clicking anywhere in the tool window and selecting the Customization Dialog menu item. You can create any layout you prefer, arranging the tool windows any way you like, and customizing the various visual elements as you prefer. Newer users can benefit from the default layout built into every client release. They can either use it as is or build on it, if they choose.

When a new PPro8 client is released, it’s important to upgrade to the new version as soon as possible. At the same time, it’s important to remember that the layout from the previous version is not automatically kept for each new PPro8 client install. As a result, most users will want to carry over their layout from the old version to the new one, instead of needing to re-create a layout from scratch each time.

In the past, layouts used to be saved to the /PPro8Client/UserID/Environment folder. With the new client release, layout files will be saved to the /PPro8Client/UserID/Environment/LayoutName folder.

You can copy layouts from the previous PPro8 Lanu client to the new PPro8 Manti client. As soon as you log in to Manti for the first time, the client will automatically move all xml files located at /PPro8Client/UserID/Environment to a new folder at /PPro8Client/UserID/Environment/Lanu_Layout. However, this will only happen if you copy the Lanu xml files before you log in for the first time. Because if you log in first, a default layout will be downloaded from the server, and the client will not transfer the Lanu xmls automatically.

1. The PPro8 layout is saved to a folder that can be found using these default folder paths:

• For Live: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ralota\PPro8 CLIENT\USERID\Live
• For TMS: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ralota\PPro8 CLIENT\USERID\TMS
• … where CLIENT stands for the PPro8 client version name, and USERID stands for your unique PPro8/Metro user ID

Note: make sure you have installed the latest version of PPro8 on your computer first before continuing on to the next steps, and that you are fully logged out of PPro8.

2. Navigate to the folder path of the older client version you wish to copy the layout from. For example, C:\Program Files (x86)\Ralota\PPro8 Jawa\USERID\Live

3. Find the layout XML files. They have the file extension .xml, and there are up to 19 of them:

• BasketOrder.xml
• CDSD.xml
• ChartWindow.xml
• HistoryLog.xml
• ImbalanceLocator.xml
• KeyboardSetup.xml
• Messages.xml
• NewsReader.xml
• OrderList.xml
• OrderStatus.xml
• Quoteboard.xml
• ScriptMonitor.xml
• StockWindow.xml
• Summary.xml
• SymbolsListEditor.xml
• Ticker.xml
• TimeOfSale.xml
• TraderMonitor.xml
• Watchdog.xml

4. In a separate folder window, navigate to the folder path of the new client version you wish to copy the layout files to. For example, C:\Program Files (x86)\Ralota\PPro8 Kusi\USERID\Live

5. Select the XML files (by Shift + or Ctrl + clicking them) from the first folder (older version), and then copy them by pressing Ctrl + C.

6. In the second folder (newer version), press Ctrl + V to paste.

7. A window will appear asking you if you wish to replace or skip files. Click Replace the files in the destination.

8. In another window that may appear, you will be asked to provide administrator permission to copy the files to the folder. Click Continue.

9. The files are copied over into the folder, overwriting and replacing the default files.

10. Your layout is now ready for use in the new PPro8 client. You can log in and use it as needed.
